We provide clean Single or Twin Bed Self-Contained, Self-Catering accommodation for Single Students from Countries Overseas. We aim to offer reasonable priced, clean furnished accommodation here in South London all Rooms have a Cooker, Refridgerator, Sink, Built-in Wardrobes, Dining Table & Chairs & a Desk. The Hostel has been recently decorated and furbished, and provides freedom with responsibility with Christian values of tolerance, understanding and respect for ones neighbours. You supply your own bed-linen, crockery and cooking utensils. You usually share toilets and bathrooms with 2 - 3 others. We have payable on site Washing and Drying Machines, a Cycle Shelter, a small Snooker hut and a large Garden for the use of all who are staying at "Blain House".

We are just five minutes walk away from Balham British Rail Main Line and Underground Stations (ZONE 3), also Bus Routes including a Night Bus Service which provide a regular service to and from the Centre of London's West End and the City. Travel is easily made to most Colleges. We have nearby corner shops, we are only five minutes walk to the local Shopping Centre, Supermarkets, Street Markets, Banks also The Balham Library, which is available to all who wish to use it. Within a few minutes walk we have Balham Leisure Centre, Tooting Bec, Clapham and Wandsworth Commons. The "Commons" are areas of Public Parkland where anyone may go for rest and recreation.

We welcome all enquiries - Residents may be from any Country and of any colour or creed. The main criteria is that the applicant is to be a full time Student at any recognised University, Polytechnic or College and that he/she can show ability to maintain him/her-self financially throughout their stay at "Blain House".

The Community welcomes responsible Students and provides a caring environment with a Resident Manager. Each individual being responsible for the cleanliness of their own room and equipment, and helping towards cleanliness and the upkeep of the common parts of the Hostel maintains high standards. All Residents have independence with their own Front Door Key but all are requested to help in the cultivation of a communal spirit within the Hostel.

Prices for you Own Self Contained Room varies from Ł75.00 to Ł85.00 per Week, depending on the Room size. Two sharing a Room from £64.00 to Ł70.00 Per Week-Per person depending on Room size. Constant Hot Water and Central Heating is provided throughout the Hostel, although you should allow a further Ł1.50 (Approx.) per Week for the electricity power in the Room.

On our receipt of your completed Application Form and you have received a written confirmed offer of Accommodation from us, a deposit of Ł200.00 is required (*Ł100.00 in advance to Book a Room (made payable to W.S.H.A.) and a further Ł100.00 on Arrival) The total amount of Ł200.00 is fully refundable on vacating, providing that the Room and its Equipment is left clean and the keys are returned back to The Office. (*Non refundable, if you cancel the booking once confirmed by us).

Office Hours - Arrival & Departure Days:

Monday 10am - 8pm. Tuesday to Friday 10am - 5.30pm.

Departure: Date of vacating with all of your possessions by 12am.
